Ulrich Bergrath was admitted to the German bar in 2003. He studied law at the Universities of Augsburg, Würzburg, Bologna (Italy) and Frankfurt am Main. During his further legal education, he worked in the legal department of Celanese AG where he began building his close relationship with the chemical industry. 

During his post-university legal education he also had stints with a big law firm in Frankfurt am Main and Chaffe McCall, New Orleans' oldest law firm, focusing on trade and commercial law matters.

 

From 2003 to 2006 he was an attorney at Stellmach & Bröckers a law firm focused on insolvency and reconstruction matters. Afterwards he was working until 2009 as an attorney at the Industriepark Höchst, with production centers of companies like Sanofi-Aventis, Celanese, Clariant and Basell. He mainly advised companies in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

 

His fields of expertise cover trade and commercial law, construction law, insolvency law, sales and distribution as well as litigation proceedings. A special area of interest are legal matters related to clinical research.

Nicole Weiss was admitted to the German bar in 2001. After successfully completing her professional training in banking, she studied law in Frankfurt am Main and Paris. She received a degree as Maîtrise en Droit and graduated with distinction.

 

During her post-university legal education, Ms. Weiss worked at the European Commission in Brussels focusing on competition, cartel/anti-trust and energy law. Further, she had a stint with the German Consulate in Cape Town, South Africa, before continuing her educational training with Baker & Mc Kenzie in Frankfurt am Main.

 

During 2001 up until 2004 she worked as an attorney at Baker & Mc Kenzie specializing in public commercial law, particularly public procurement law and law on state aid. She then moved to Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) where she held a staff position in the areas of labor law, public procurement law and international contract law. As a deputy team leader she is in charge of the MENAT region (Middle East, North Africa and Turkey).

 

Nicole Weiss gives lectures on labor law and has published articles in legal journals.

 

Since 2009 she is an attorney at BERGRATH specializing in labor law, public procurement law and international contract law.
